Precision Hardwood Flooring
September 28 through October 26, 2026
Local map coverage remains broadly stable across the original tracked keywords. Organic visibility and traffic declined, while website engagement improved and a form submission carried a ChatGPT source tag.
The month at a glance
Report prepared October 26. Search and Analytics comparison uses September 28–October 24 versus September 1–27, two equal 27 day windows.
Precision continued to receive inquiries for refinishing, floor installation, stairs and handrails. ChatGPT appears in both the traffic data and a submitted inquiry. On Maps, the main contractor keyword held its Top 3 coverage at 73% in Airmont and 39% in Upper Saddle River.
Website inquiries and their sources
PHF form · September 28–October 26. Counts reflect the records available when this report was prepared.
All nine submissions have different contact IDs. Five list New Jersey and four list New York. They cover eight named communities.
| Recorded source label | Submissions |
|---|---|
| Organic Search | 6 |
| Direct traffic | 3 |
| Total | 9 |
One of the three Direct traffic records carries a ChatGPT UTM tag. It is part of the nine total, not an additional lead. The prior equal 29 day window, August 30–September 27, had 12 submissions from 11 contact IDs: current submissions are down 25%. A form submission is an inquiry, not a booked job.
A documented ChatGPT connection
A request for banister staining arrived through the stairs and handrails page with utm_source=chatgpt.com in both its page URL and recorded URL parameters.
The recorded source label remained “Direct traffic” and the referrer was blank. We therefore report this as a ChatGPT tagged inquiry, preserving the distinction between the recorded channel label and the more specific source tag.
GA4 window: September 28–October 24. ChatGPT sessions rose from 5 to 7 versus September 1–27. The aggregate GA4 sessions cannot be matched one for one to this contact, and a UTM tag does not prove the exact recommendation or prompt shown in ChatGPT.
What prospective customers requested
| Request category | Submissions | Scope described in the forms |

| Stairs and handrails | 3 | Stair replacement, banister staining, and stairs with an upstairs landing. |

| Mixed installation and restoration | 1 | New hardwood in one room and restoring existing hardwood in others. |
| Floor installation assessment | 1 | Assessment of a project with flooring and underlayment already purchased. |
| Floor replacement | 1 | Replacing basement flooring after a sewer backup. |
| General flooring inquiry | 1 | Apartment flooring project; detailed service not specified. |
Categories were assigned from the submitted descriptions and are mutually exclusive for this summary. Communities recorded: Closter, Greenwood Lake, Tuxedo, Wayne, Montvale, Township of Washington, Mahwah and Nanuet. Names, emails and phone numbers are omitted.

Airmont and Rockland County
| Keyword | Sep 26 AGR | Oct 26 AGR | Sep 26 SoLV | Oct 26 SoLV |

The core contractor keyword retained 73% Top 3 coverage. Flooring repair improved from AGR 5.62 to 5.48, and flooring contractor improved from 6.27 to 5.90. The four keyword average SoLV moved from 55.75% to 55.25%, a decline of 0.5 percentage points.
Upper Saddle River and Bergen County
| Keyword | Sep 26 AGR | Oct 26 AGR | Sep 26 SoLV | Oct 26 SoLV |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| hardwood flooring contractor | 6.78 | 6.65 | 39% | 39% |
| flooring repair | 8.77 | 8.96 | 15% | 12% |
| flooring contractor | 9.90 | 9.80 | 8% | 8% |
| flooring company | 11.65 | 11.43 | 4% | 5% |
Three of the original four keywords improved in AGR. The core contractor keyword retained 39% Top 3 coverage. Flooring repair softened from AGR 8.77 to 8.96 and from 15% to 12% SoLV. The four keyword average SoLV moved from 16.5% to 16.0%.
Local Optics now shows 11 tracked keywords per location. The tables use only the four included in the previous published report, so adding keywords does not change the month to month basis. Expanded coverage includes installation, repair and floor sanding terms; these are available in the interactive maps.
Interactions with the Upper Saddle River profile
The Local Optics cards and chart captions label September 22–October 22 versus August 21–September 20; the date picker displays September 23–October 23. Because these labels differ by one day, these values are shown as a separate platform window, not recast as September 28–October 26 totals. The panel reports Maps impressions +37%, Search impressions −25%, website clicks −62% and direction requests −46%. Its rounded call change label is omitted because the exact prior count was not read back.
Call tracking is not connected in this location dashboard. These three call clicks are not evidence of three completed conversations, three unique leads or three booked jobs. They are not added to the PHF total, because attribution windows and deduplication differ. No Airmont interaction totals are inferred from this profile.
Google Search performance
September 28–October 24 versus September 1–27. Search Console data was settled through October 24.
| Metric | Previous 27 days | Current 27 days | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clicks | 101 | 91 | −9.9% |
| Impressions | 8,265 | 4,965 | −39.9% |
| Click through rate | 1.22% | 1.83% | +0.61 percentage points |
| Average position | 7.93 | 10.80 | 2.86 positions lower |
The click decline was smaller than the impression decline and CTR increased. Several commercial queries improved. That is useful evidence of retained visibility in parts of the search mix, while the overall position and traffic declines still require attention.
Query level results are mixed
| Search query | Previous position | Current position | Movement |
|---|---|---|---|

| hardwood flooring installation | 12.36 | 7.52 | Improved 4.84 |
| hardwood floor refinishing near me | 39.10 | 26.34 | Improved 12.77 |
| hardwood flooring mahwah nj | 6.83 | 4.58 | Improved 2.25 |
| saddle river nj floor installation | 11.77 | 6.84 | Improved 4.93 |
| how long does it take to sand hardwood floors | 11.10 | 6.89 | Improved 4.21 |
| precision flooring | 3.19 | 6.48 | Down 3.30 |
| hardwood floor refinishing | 3.72 | 6.82 | Down 3.10 |
| flooring contractors near me | 6.11 | 21.63 | Down 15.52 |
Lower positions are better. This is a selected, labeled mix of improving and declining queries, not an exhaustive ranking table. The current query export returned all 550 available rows, but Google anonymizes some queries: those rows cover only 38.46% of clicks and 54.52% of impressions. Headline totals come from the property summary, not the sum of visible queries. Position is an impression weighted average and can change when the query mix changes; it does not isolate a single cause.
For example, “floor refinishing” impressions fell from 672 to 232 while position moved only from 1.00 to 1.28. At the same time, other queries lost positions. This demonstrates that impression changes and ranking changes are not interchangeable. It does not establish whether demand, seasonality, SERP changes or another factor caused the overall decline.
